Privacy Policy and Notice on the Collection of Personal Data

Welcome to the official website of the "Taiwan Display Union Association (TDUA)" (hereinafter referred to as "the Website"). To ensure that you can use the service and information of the Website with peace of mind, please read the following content carefully before you begin using the Website, and agree to the TDUA’s collection, processing, and use of your personal data in accordance with applicable regulations.

I. Scope of the Privacy Policy

TDUA's "Privacy Policy" applies in the following situations:

  • When you directly submit personal data while conducting business with TDUA or participating in various activities (e.g., registering for exhibitions, forums, or courses).

TDUA collects your personal data for purposes including user applications, event registration, newsletter subscription, and business inquiries. This data is used for necessary functions such as event notification, confirmation of registration details, distribution of industry-related information, and internal management. The data collected includes the name, contact telephone number, email address, organization/company name, job title, and other information that can directly or indirectly identify an individual. Furthermore, when you browse the Website generally, the server will automatically record users’ behavior (including but not limited to IP address, access time, browser type, and browsing/clicking history). This information is used solely as a reference for internal service optimization; it does not involve personal identification and will not be disclosed externally. If a survey about the Website is carried out, the data obtained will be used for statistical analysis. The results will be presented solely in the form of statistical data or explanatory text. While the results may be published if necessary, they will not involve any specific personal data.

  •  Duration, Region, Recipients, and Methods of the Use of Personal Data

The personal data you provide will be used within the territory of the Republic of China and in regions where TDUA conducts business. The period of use should be for the duration of your account’s validity, or until the date the purpose of collection ceases to exist. In principle, the relevant data is limited to use by TDUA. However, where necessary, registration information may be provided to event co-organizers to facilitate the execution, or, in accordance with laws and regulations, provided to authorities possessing legal jurisdiction. All collection, processing, and use are performed within a legal and reasonable scope.

  • Methods for Exercising Personal Data Rights

According to Article 3 of the Personal Data Protection Act, you may exercise the following rights with TDUA any time regarding your personal data: making an inquiry or requesting to review the data, requesting to make duplication of the data, supplementing or correcting the data, requesting to cease the collection, processing, or utilization of the data, or requesting to delete the data.

  •  Impact of Non-Provision of Personal Data

You are free to choose whether to provide your personal data. However, if you refuse to provide such data or fail to provide complete information, it may result in the inability to complete user applications, event registration, newsletter subscription, or other related services.

 

III.  Protection of Personal Data

  • The hosts of the Website are equipped with firewalls, antivirus systems, and other relevant information security devices and necessary security measures. We adopt strict protection measures to safeguard the Website and your personal data. Access to your personal data is restricted solely to authorized personnel. All relevant processing personnel have signed confidentiality agreements, and any person violating such confidentiality obligations will be subject to relevant legal penalties.
  • Where it is necessary to outsource services to other entities due to business requirements, TDUA will strictly require such entities to comply with confidentiality obligations and will implement necessary inspection procedures to ensure their strict compliance.

          - When cooperating with public agencies or academic research institutions, where necessary for statistics or academic research based on the public interest, and the data has been processed or disclosed in a manner that prevents the identification of a specific individual.

          - When your actions on the Website violate the Terms of Use, or may damage or hinder the rights and interests of the Website or other users, or cause harm to any person, and the Website administration deems the disclosure of your personal data necessary for identification, contact, or taking legal action.   

          - When TDUA is fulfilling an obligation to provide personal data according to an outsourcing contractual relationship.
